About Nepal

Nepal is a living cultural heritage, alive and dynamic. Temples, Shrines, Monuments and Monasteries are extremely active with devotees burning butter lamps, singing hymns, chiming temple bells and playing drums. Above all Nepal has the majestic Himalayan peaks such as Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, and stunning views of other mountains that are covered with snow throughout the year, lush green valleys and winding roads gives a different charm.

Places of Interest:

*Pasupatinath Temple:* The temple of lord Pasupatinath on the bank of river Baghmati is famous for its exquisite architecture and is a UN heritage site.

*Patan:* It houses the Patan Durbar Square, Krishna mandir (temple) mahaboudha and many temples of different gods and goddesses.

*Bhaktapur:* This main square of the city contains many temples and other architectural masterpieces, like the lion gate, picture gallery, statue of the king, the golden gate and the Changu Narayan temple, believe to the oldest temple in the valley.

*Pokhara:* It is situated 200kms west of Katmandu at about 900mts above the sea level. Pokhara offers a magnificent view of Mt. Dhoulagiri, Manaslu and other peaks. The lakes of Phewa, Begnas and Rupa ornament the beauty of the valley.Lumbini: It is a small town in the southern plain of Nepal. The ruins of old cities can still be seen. It is the birthplace of Lord Buddha and is the religious site for the entire Buddhist all over the world.

*Chitwan:* The Royal Chitwan National Park is an area of approx. 1000 sq kms located 175 km south-west of Kathmandu near to the Indian border in the Terai or jungle area of Nepal. The Park was formed in 1973 as an animal sanctuary for the rapidly declining species of rhino and tiger, and today offers one of the finest wildlife experiences in Asia. The Park now contains an estimated 400 Indian one-horned rhinoceros, 80 Royal Bengal tigers, plus another 50 species of mammals and 400 different types of bird.
